Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga 30 months since relocating for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
