World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second straight year.

The 27-year-old captured four titles – the most on tour – including successfully defending the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Season of High Performance

Across the season, Sabalenka competed in a tour-best nine finals, with defeats coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

This past summer, she became the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Record-Breaking Numbers

Sabalenka ended the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and collected a historic eleven million pounds in prize money.

She garnered nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".
