The loved ones of teenagers missing after a tragic blaze at a bar in a Switzerland's alpine town are facing an excruciating wait for official news and appealing for clues about their loved ones online.
The fire engulfed the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Circulated images depict the ceiling igniting as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.
Emergency services have indicated that it could take an extended period to identify the fatalities of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of 40 people and injured another scores more. Authorities stated on the latest update that the majority of the those hurt have been accounted for, with efforts continuing to identify the other six.
In the waiting period, loved ones have been using the internet to plead for information about their missing relatives who were present at the venue that night.
Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For
