It has been confirmed that original stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the next chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.

The duo are returning as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. It is believed their appearance will likely occur in a brief glimpse ahead, given that the main film series concluded with their characters married and with children.
This signifies the sixth cinematic outing in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise.

Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a newly published work by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Returning to the director's chair is Francis Lawrence, who was behind the majority of the previous films in the series.
