Soccer Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global break, but will the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of several charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home record, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
