The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

Acclaimed writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the company said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an review of reports of questionable actions towards female individuals.

The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
