Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the boxing community offered condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
